Virginia State Honors Student-Athletes

May 2, 2000

(PETERSBURG, VIRGINIA ) The Virginia State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics concluded its 1999 - 2000 athletic year with its annual Awards Banquet in VSU's Daniel Gymnasium. Athletic as well as academic awards were presented to members of each of Virginia State's athletic teams.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of Danielle Brown and Kevin Parker as female and male "Student- Athlete of the Year" respectively. Brown, a junior, Health & Physical Education major from Perth Amboy, New Jersey, is a member of the Women's Basketball and Tennis teams. Parker is a junior, Health & Physical Education major from Chesapeake, Virginia and a member of the Football team. Each of these students received Wall Clocks for their accomplishment.
