Virginia Union will host the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association's annual Indoor Track Championships on Friday, February 11, 2000 at the Arthur Ashe Center in Richmond, Virginia. Currently, seven CIAA member institutions participate in Indoor Track: Johnson C. Smith, Livingstone, N.C. Central, St. Augustine's, St. Paul's, Shaw and Virginia State. These schools will vie for the Men and Women's Championship titles.
The women and men of Saint Augustine's College have successfully swept both championships for the past two years. The women have won the championship the past three years (1997, 1998 & 1999). To qualify for championship competition, each participating institution must compete in a minimum of four contests prior to the championship. The school tabulating the highest team score is the champion. Awards will be given to the First, Second and Third place team and individual winners. Awards will also be given to the Most Valuable Field and the Most Valuable Track athlete for both men and women. Competition begins at 11:00 a.m.
