Fayetteville, NC - The St. Augustine’s College Falcons captured the 2000 CIAA Golf Championship today at Willow Lakes Golf Course in Fayetteville, NC. Each team completed the two-day 27 hole course (9 holes on Thursday, 18 holes Friday). The Falcons accumulated 511 points to secure the title. Reigning champion, Fayetteville State took second place with 532 points and did not win the championship for the first time since 1997. Johnson C. Smith followed with 566 team points.
St. Augustine’s Anthony Rodgiquez, was the medalist for the event with 120 points (43/77). Joining Rodgiquez on the All-CIAA Golf Team is St. Augustine’s Edric Poiter 129 points (42/79), and Kevin James 124 points (43/81), Virginia Union’s Emile Gable 122 points (40/82) and Fayetteville State’s Willie Allen 122 points (41/81).
