RALEIGII, N.C. ‑ Dr. James Goodnigh, President and CEO of SAS Institute, and his wife Mrs. Ann Goodnight, have made a generous donation of $100,000 to the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) General Scholarship Fund this week. The donation was given in conjunction with the playing of the 56 th Annual CIAA Men’s and Women's Basketball Tournament at the Raleigh Entertainrnent and Sports Arena.
"Supportirig educational initiativcs and supporting our community through those efforts, is something that Ann and I strongly believe in," Dr Goodnight said. "We are happy to see the CIAA tournament having success in the Triangle and we wanted to take this opportunity to lend our support to tbe success of CIAA students in the classroom."
The CIAA General Scholarship Fund is comprised of money raised through ticket sales, CIAA corporate partners and host city sponsors. The monies are then dispersed to the individual institutions made up of private and public universities and colleges and are then distributed to students who aro in need of assistance.
