Bowie State to face Tuskegee in Pioneer Bowl VIIINovember 8, 2005 Hampton, VA… The Bowie State University Bulldogs will travel to Charlotte, North Carolina to take on the Tuskegee University Golden Tigers in the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association’s (CIAA) annual battle with the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). The American Legion Memorial Stadium will host this contest, the only NCAA sanctioned Division II football bowl game for HBCU’s, on December 3, 2005 at 2:00pm. The game will be televised live on ESPN Classic.The Bulldogs (5-2, 8-3), runners up in the CIAA Football Championship Game, will enter this year’s competition ranked 12th in the Southeast region. This will be the first visit to the Pioneer Bowl for Bowie State and their first meeting with Tuskegee University. The Pioneer Bowl will also serve as their second post-season game in school history; following a first round loss to Portland State University, 17-34 in the 1988 playoffs.
