ECSU to face Bloomsburg in NCAA Softball Regionals

INDIANAPOLIS---The NCAA Division II Women's Softball Committee has selected the 48 teams that will participate in the NCAA Division II Women's Softball Regional Championships. CIAA Champion Elizabeth City State will meet Bloomsburg at noon, Thursday, May 12 in the Mid-Atlantic Regional.

Six teams will participate at each of eight, on-campus regional sites in double-elimination tournaments to determine the final eight participants. Regional competition will be held May 11-15. Winners will advance to the finals to be held May 19-23, at the James I Moyer Softball Complex in Salem, Virginia.

In 2004, Angelo State University claimed the national championship with a 7-3 victory over Florida Southern College in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
