Va Union's Jaaber Honored for 1000th Career Point

January 8, 2005

Virginia Union University's Luqman Jaaber was honored before the start of Saturday night's game between VUU and Johnson C. Smith University.  Jaaber, a 5-5 senior guard for VUU, scored his 1000th career point when VUU played Winston-Salem State University on January 4.

Jaaber, who also scored 203 points while playing for Virginia State University as a freshman, becomes the first VUU player to scored 1000 points since William Davis turned the trick in 1998.

In a related note, VUU junior forward Duan Crockett has 990 points entering into Tuesday night's game between VUU and Fayetteville State University.  If Crockett scores 10 points he will become the first VUU player to scored 1000 points while wearing a Panther uniform since Davis.
