Head Coach George Johnson Steps Down From Livingstone Football

Salisbury, NC – Livingstone Head Coach George Johnson submitted his letter of resignation on November 12. Johnson completed final business with the team and the athletic department before his departure.

The Blue Bears produced a disappointing 2-8 season this year, after consecutive 3-7 seasons during Coach Johnson’s first two years at the helm. The team was ranked ninth in the conference in scoring offense and 10th in scoring defense. The Blue Bears ranked 11th in turnover margin with 31 lost possessions during the season and a margin of -16.

Livingstone won one Western Division game this year. The Blue Bears had won two divisional games in each of Johnson's first two years.

Prior to Johnson’s resignation, the contracts of the offensive coordinator (Moses Rison) and defensive coordinator (Roderick Randolph) were not renewed. The search to fill all vacant positions will begin immediately.
