JCSU Women's Basketball shows support for CIAA's HardyMay 13, 2005 CHARLOTTE, NC – Members of the Johnson C. Smith University Women’s Basketball team along with head coach Vanessa Taylor attended the pre-season WNBA game of the Charlotte Sting versus the Los Angeles Sparks yesterday at the Bobcats/Sting Training Facility in Fort Mill, SC. Though it's not an unusual practice for the Lady Golden Bulls to attend games, yesterday’s game was special because Bowie State University’s Allyson Hardy was playing for the Sparks.
The team created signs that read “JCSU Supports Allyson Hardy, Bowie State 2001-2005” and “Go #3 Allyson Hardy” to show their support for the CIAA Player of the Year. Hardy played 4 minutes in yesterday’s 66-61 victory over the Sting. After the game, Hardy came running out the locker room elated to see the people she once played against. She hugged everyone and thanked them for coming out to see her. She talked about how much she is enjoying the experience and is really hoping that she makes the team. The final cut will take place on May 20, 2005. Back to CIAA Online Front Page |
