JCSU Football adds to coaching staffFebruary 8, 2005 CHARLOTTE, NC – Daryl McNeill, head football coach of Johnson C. Smith University, has announced the addition of Steve Aycock and Greg Richardson to his coaching staff.Richardson, a key component to the defense, returns to Johnson C. Smith University after an 18-year hiatus. He has been all over the CIAA including a most recent stint as Defensive Coordinator at rival Winston-Salem State University from 2002-2004. He will perform in the same capacity at JCSU and will also serve as the assistant head coach and linebackers coach. “I was tired of recruiting against Coach Richardson, so I decided to hire him,” said McNeill. “He has been all over the CIAA and I am excited to have him on my staff.” Steve Aycock rejoins the Golden Bull staff after spending the previous eight years running a small business in Charlotte. He previously worked under McNeill during the 1995 and 1996 campaigns as the offensive line coach. Most recently, he was a volunteer coach under former head coach Tim Harkness in 2004. He will be responsible for running the offensive line. “I felt it was the right thing to do in hiring Coach Aycock,” said McNeill. “I want to finish what we started in 1996.” Coaches Aycock and Richardson officially began employment on February 1, 2005.
