Beasley named Morgan State Basketball CoachMarch 17, 2005 Morgan State University’s Interim Athletic Director Tanya Rush has announced that Donald Beasley will be the Bears’ new head women’s basketball coach. Beasley, a graduate of Morgan State University and former assistant coach at Fayetteville State University under Sam Hanger will be accepting his first Division I coaching position. He will become Morgan’s seventh head women’s coach since 1982. A 1984 graduate of Morgan, Beasley’s responsibilities at Fayetteville State University were in all areas of coaching, scouting and recruiting. Beasley brings 24 years of coaching experience to Morgan State, including eight at the JUCO level as head men’s coach at Dundalk Community College in Baltimore, Maryland. While at Dundalk, Beasley received NJCAA Coach of the Year honors in 2000.
