Shaw ranked
#1 in latest Women's Poll

The Shaw women’s
basketball team is ranked #1 in the USA TODAY
ESPN Top 25 Coaches’ Poll- Division II, for the first time in
school history. Shaw received 22 first place votes, while the
#2 ranked team, Washburn, received just two first place votes. The
previous number one, Drury, fell in the semi-finals of its regional
tournament, catapulting the Lady Bears to number one.
Shaw
won the South Atlantic Regional Championship with a 67-53 victory over Carson-Newman
on Monday night at Spaulding Gymnasium. For the first time in school
history, the Shaw women’s team will play in the Elite 8, as they will
take on Central Arkansas, who won the south region, on Wednesday March 23
at 8:00 p.m. in Hot Springs , AR.
