CIAA Names Elohim and White Tennis Players of the Year

CHARLOTTE, NC - The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association has announced its seeding and pairings for the 2004 Men's and Women's Tennis Championships. On the men's side, Johnson C. Smith University and Shaw University have shared the #1 seeds. The two powerhouses of the conference have equally shared the one and two slots. Fayetteville State University dominates the women's side. FSU will play at number one in all but one singles match and one doubles match.

The conference also named its 2004 All-Conference teams as well as players and rookies of the year. FSU's Brasheedah Elohim and JCSU's Michael White have been named 2004 Women's and Men's Players of the Year. Elohim, a senior from Mt. Tremper, NY posted an impressive 15-4 (14-1 CIAA) record. Fayetteville State's Arie Bennett and Shaw University's Kabiru Ibrahim were named Rookies of the Year.
