VSU Eliminated from Tournament

Bloomsburg 3, Virginia State 2

Shippensburg, Pa. -- Bloomsburg's Laurel Koster singled home the winning run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to break a 2-2 tie and give the Huskies a 3-2 victory.

Bloomsburg's Jamie Wilson gave up two runs on four hits, striking out nine, while Tiya Hines held the mound for Virginia State, with three runs scored on three hits. She had seven strikeouts.

Virginia State scored two runs in the top of the fourth, with Charlynda Credle and Doranda Finkley each getting RBI hits in the game.

Bloomsburg tied the game in the bottom of the inning, with Jess Shnyder scoring on a wild pitch, and Amanda Breon scoring when Dee Wolfe grounded out.

The loss eliminates Virginia State from the tournament.
