VUU's Jerome Leslie Signs With Philadelphia EaglesApril 26, 2004Jerome Leslie, who led Virginia Union University 25 receptions last season, has signed a three-year contract with the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League. Financial terms of the contract were not announced. Leslie was signed as a free agent after the conclusion of the NFL's annual draft this past weekend. As a senior in 2003, Leslie led the Panthers with 25 catches for 460 yards. His seven touchdowns put him second on the team in scoring with 42 points. He averaged 51.1 yards per game in receiving. A 6-3 wide receiver from Lake Carmel, NY, Leslie also caught 31 passes for 410 yards as a junior for VUU. His 45.6 yards per game led the team. Leslie's 76 career catches were third-best in school history. Leslie will report to the Eagles' mini-camp next week at the NovaCare Complex in Philadelphia to begin practicing with the team.
