Livingstone Track Duo Seeks National
Championship Title
Waiters ranked #1 in 110 Hurdles and Vaden ranked #1 in 200m

SALISBURY NC -- Livingstone College Track & Field senior standouts Jordan
Vaden and Shantico Waiters will make their final attempts at winning a NCAA
Division II National Championship title. Livingstone will travel next week
(May 26-30) to Walnut California to compete at the Hilmer Lodge Stadium on
the campus of Mount San Antonio College. Cal Poly Pomona University will host
the meet.
Both seniors are having an outstanding year. Jordan Vaden is ranked number
one in the 200-meter dash with a time of 20.57 seconds. He is ranked second
in the 400-meter dash at 46.04 seconds. Shantico Waiters is top ranked in
the 110-meter high hurdles with a time of 13.76 seconds. The duo has also
qualified for the 2004 USA Olympic Trails, which will be held in Sacramento,
California later this summer.
Sophomore Reynaldo McFalling will also be competing in the National Championships.
He made the qualifying cut in the intermediate 400-meter hurdles. Sophomores
Edwin Samson and Mukia Maromo will join Vaden and Waiters on the 1600-meter
(4x400) relay team. The four posted a time of 3:11.70 this year.
The national championships will mark the final meet for Head Coach Clifton
Huff.
