The CIAA Announces Men’s and Women’s All-Rookie Team and Rookies of the YearFebruary 18, 2004Hampton – The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association is proud to celebrate its selections for the 2004 CIAA All-Rookie Teams. The CIAA Sports Information Directors Association selected Audly Wehner and Shalonda Carter of Winston-Salem State University as the Men’s and Women’s Rookie of the Year. Audly Wehner, a 6-5 freshman forward from Fayetteville, North Carolina, leads the Rams in scoring with 16 ppg and in rebounding with 5.5 rpg. He has been named CIAA Rookie of the Week six times. Shalonda Carter, a 6-0 freshman forward from Fayetteville, North Carolina, is a fivetime CIAA Rookie of the Week and leads the Lady Rams in scoring with 13.3 ppg and rebounding with 9.3 rpg. The All-Rookie Teams and Rookies of the Year will be formally honored with
the All Conference Teams at the Women’s and Men’s tip-Off Banquets.
Both banquets will be hald at the Embassy Suites-RDU in Cary on Sunday, February
22 and Tuesday, February 24 at 6:30 pm, respectively.
