Saint Augustine's Falcons Reign Again

Newport News, VA – The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association held its 2003 Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championship today at the Freeman Center on the campus of Christopher Newport University. Once again, the Saint Augustine’s Falcons and Lady Falcons swept the tournament by defeating their opponents by more than 75 points, respectively.

Jason Smoots of NCCU repeats as the indoor 60 meter champ with a time of 6.8sec. Patrick Wright of Livingstone College captured 1st place in the Men’s Shot Put, hurling a 15.44 meter mark. Marcia Medina of St Augustine’s College not only took 1st place in the 800 and 1600 meter run, she was also named as the Women’s Championship MVP. A new facility record was set as the SAC men’s 4x400 meter relay team ran an astounding 3:16.04 finish. BSU Bulldog, Robert Devual, Men’s Field MVP leaped to a 6-10 finish in Men’s High Jump.
