2003 Division II Men's Tennis: North Florida 9, Johnson C. Smith 0

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Despite the hot May weather, the first round of the Mid-Atlantic Regional was a breeze for the University of North Florida men's tennis team. The Ospreys swept Johnson C. Smith out of the NCAA Division II Tournament with a 9-0 victory Friday morning at the UNF Tennis Complex.

Three North Florida players grabbed straight-set victories as the Ospreys lost only seven singles games in any of their matches.

The Ospreys will face the winner of the afternoon match between Lees-McRae College and Armstrong Atlantic State University. The two first-round winners will play at 10:30 a.m. Saturday for a berth in the NCAA Division II Sweet 16.
