Fayetteville State Takes CIAA Golf Championship
April 25, 2003Concord, NC…Fayetteville State University re-captured the 2003 CIAA Golf Championship today at the Rocky River Golf Club after a rainy nine holes. FSU led the two-day tournament throughout and finished with a final score of 478. Johnson C. Smith University followed as runner-up with an even 500.
Brent Snipes and Nathan Jeffreys of FSU took an early-round lead yesterday with a 2 over par 74 and a 4 over 76 respectively. Bo Harris of Elizabeth City State University also posted a 7 over 79. At the end of Thursday, FSU was in the lead with 311, JCSU followed with 336 and SAC finished with 341.
