58th CIAA Men's Basketball Tournament Tip-off Speaker and All-CIAA Selections Announced
February 16, 2003Bill Overton, author and actor, will share his research on how the media has impacted African-American society and the importance of displaying a positive image, at the 2003 CIAA Basketball Men’s Tip-Off Banquet, Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2003, Embassy Suites, Raleigh-Durham, Airport.
The annual banquet is a tribute to the participants of the 58th Men’s Basketball Tournament, and honors the All-Conference Players, Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year as selected by the CIAA Men’s Basketball Coaches Association.
Overton has comprised his years of gathering artwork and the analysis of those images into his debut book called “The Media- Shaping The Image of a People.” Bill attended Wake Forest University as a football student-athlete, but chose liberal arts to display his talents as a model and later as an actor. Overton, and his wife, the former CBS Sportscaster, talk show host and actress, Jayne Kennedy run an entertainment production company in Los Angles.
