NCCU Grabs Second in National Sports Information Publications ContestJune 14, 2002 North Carolina Central University's 2001 football game program captured second place among Special Programs in Division B in the annual College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Publications Contest.NCCU sports information director Kyle Serba and student assistant Bryan Harvey, a December 2001 graduate from Winston-Salem, NC, co-produced the award-winning publication. NCCU's 52-page football game program received 762 out of a possible 900 points (84.7 percent). Judges awarded points based on the design, writing, photography, and overall effectiveness of each publication. The Special Programs category includes publications that are produced for special events and intended for sale or distribution to the general public, as well as single-issue programs that cover an entire season. Division B includes NCAA Division II and NAIA Division I schools. The first place winner in this section was Alaska-Anchorage for the "Great Alaska Shootout" program. Back to CIAA Online Front Page |
