CIAA Puts Five on All-Region TeamMarch 6, 2002CLINTON, SC - The release of the 2001-02 Daktronics South Atlantic NCAA Division II All-Region teams includes five representatives of CIAA schools. Ronald Murray (Shaw University) and Antoine Sims (J.C. Smith University) were first team selectees while Shaw's Steve Bynes, Virginia State University's Lavar Griffin and Bowie State University's Tim Washington were selected for the second team. Each of the three conferences in the South Atlantic Region was well represented on the all-region teams. In addition to the five players from the CIAA, the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) had three, and the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) had two selections. Four selections that will play this weekend are on the first team. In addition to Murray and Sims, Kyle Gribble (Carson-Newman College) and Lorniza Harrington (Wingate University) were named to the first team and will appear in Johnson City, Tennessee this weekend. Rounding out the first team was Clint Keown (USC Aiken). Bynes and Augusta State University's Gary Boodnikoff will also participate this weekend in the South Atlantic Regional and were named to the second team. Joining Boodnikoff and Bynes on the second team were Griffin, Washington and Rodney Keener (Georgia College & State University).
