Nationally Respected Consultant and Best Selling Author to Speak at CIAA Women's Tip-Off BanquetJanuary 22, 2002Raleigh, NC -- The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association is pleased to present Lorraine Johnson-Coleman as the guest speaker for the 2002 Women's Tip-Off Banquet to be held at the North Raleigh Hilton, February 24, 2002, at 6:30 p.m. Lorraine Johnson-Coleman is a nationally respected consultant in the areas of cultural preservation and community planning who counts among her clients, The Kellogg Foundation, National Parks Service and National Trust for Historic Preservation. Known for her "down-home wisdom," Lorraine is enjoyed by millions annually as a regular contributor to National Public Radio Morning Edition. Lorraine Johnson- Coleman is also the best selling author of three books on Southern culture entitled Just Plain Folks, Larissa's Breadbook, and Talking Mules & Other Folks. In addition to writing and consulting, Lorraine also tours nationally. Lorraine has served as inspiration to people from all walks of life and for this CIAA is pleased to have Lorraine Johnson-Coleman kick-off the women's portion of the 2002 CIAA Basketball Tournament. Women's play begins at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 25. Semi-finals commence at 11 am on Friday, March 1, and finals at 5:00 p.m., Saturday March 2, 2002.
