CIAA Announces Rookies of the Year and 2002 All-Rookie Teams

The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association's Sports Information Directors have selected Allyson Hardy and Hassan Robinson as 2002 CIAA Rookies of the Year.

Hardy, a 5-5 point guard from Germantown, MD and Bowie State University, ranks second in the conference in asists; 142 total and 5.68 per game. She was a two-time Rookie of the Week and leads the Lady Bulldogs in minutes played, averaging 36.5 mpg. Hardy is also the third leading scorer for BSU with a 11.8 points-per-game average. She and the women's All-Rookie Team will be introduced at the Women's Tip-Off Banquet on February 24 at the North Raleigh Hilton.

Robinson made a significant contribution to the Saint Paul's Tigers as their second leading scorer, 19.9 ppg, and rebounder, 4.3 rpg appearing in just 12 games. He and the other members of the men's All-Rookie Team will be introduced at the Men's Tip-Off Banquet on February 27 at the North Raleigh Hilton.
