Raleigh, NC - It has been a victorious day for Fayetteville State University as the Lady Broncos captured the title in a tie-breaker game, 2-0, against Winston-Salem State University at the Walnut Creek Softball Complex. This is Fayetteville StateÕs first fast pitch Softball Championship ever, and the first since their 1983 win. (Slow pitch)

The Fayetteville State Lady Broncos claimed their opportunity to play in the championship game versus Winston-Salem State, beating Shaw University by a blinding, 16-2, during todayÕs opening game.
Advancing to the championship game, the Lady Broncos dominated the Lady Rams for the majority of the game, leading by 5 points at the start of the seventh inning. The Lady Rams tried to rally back, cutting the Lady Broncos lead to 2. However, WSSU's efforts weren't enough, surrendering to Fayetteville, 6-8.
After that win, Winston-Salem State and Fayetteville State were left to play a tie-breaker game to settle the score, where the Lady Broncos reigned victorious. Both teams were required to play the tie-breaker due to losses earlier in the tournament. Fayetteville State fell prey to Shaw University, 3-5 on Friday and Winston-Salem State lost to Fayetteville today.
