ACC's First Female Assistant Commissioner and CIAA Alumnus to Speak at CIAA Women's Tip-Off Banquet

Raleigh, NC -- The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association announces, DeLores "Dee" Todd,

a Winston-Salem State Alumnus and current Assistant Commissioner for the Atlantic Coast Conference, as the esteemed guest speaker for the 2001 Women's Tip-Off Banquet to be held at the Raleigh North Hilton, February 25, 2001.

Todd is the first women to serve in the role of Assistant Commissioner in the 47-year history of the conference. As an integral member of the ACC's staff, Todd supervises, directs and coordinates officiating programs for men's and women's soccer and baseball, as well as plans, organizes and directs 10 men's championships and 12 women's championship events. She serves on the NCAA Championship/Competition Cabinet and Administration Subcommittees and chairs the Certified Contests Subcommittee. Todd has also been recognized for her tremendous coaching abilities, this three time Georgia State Coach of the Year and former Cross Country and Track Coach, has also been included as 2001 CIAA John B. McLendon Hall of Fame inductee.

By kicking off the women's portion of the 2001 CIAA Basketball Tournament and honoring the exceptional players of the 2001 CIAA All-Conference team, Todd's expertise in Athletic Administration will inspirit other female athletes and young professionals to maximize their talents in both competition and in the workplace.

Women's play begins at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 26. Semi-Finals convene at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 2, and finals at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, March 3, 2001.
